The International Academy of Management and Economics - Alumni Association, Inc. was established to relentlessly pursue intellectual growth, social justice and act as a premier association that will actively involve in political, economic, social, technological, biological and agricultural pursuit in different parts of the world in Government, Academe, and Industry sectors of our society.

PHILOSOPHY / QUALITY POLICY

IAME reaffirms the centrality and primacy of the human person and respect for dignity as core foundation of human rights -- civil and political rights; social, economic, and cultural rights.

Society, the State and other institutions exist for the individual.

The ultimate objective is the happiness of the individual. Freedom and individual liberty are thus preconditions to the realization of one's best self, or the attainment of the perfection of one's personality, and enjoyment of the ends of life.

Both the institution and the individual should enjoy freedom and liberty; otherwise the fullest development of the human personality cannot be attained.

This is the philosophical bedrock on which I.AME operates now and into the future.

OUR HISTORY

OUR ROOTS

The International Academy of Management & Economics was conceived as an embryo of a global university at a time when globalization was hardly spoken or written about. The idea was inspired by Perlmutter (Wharton University) and Houlahan's (University of Hawaii) concept of "Building a Global University."

HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE

The International Academy of Management & Economics was the first international business school of the country, operating since 1979 with an MBA program that brought together faculty and students from four continents. On May 22, 1985, IAME became a locally registered corporation offering undergraduate and graduate programs and courses. Just a decade later, IAME was given due recognition for its pioneering role in ushering the Philippines into the world of global business education by no less than then President Fidel V. Ramos during a conference of university presidents from around the world.

OUR PURPOSE

1. To encourage, support, develop and foster fellowship and camaraderie among the graduates of International Academy of Management and Economics;

2. To promote, encourage, sponsor programs and services which foster and promote allegiance to the school among alumni;

3. To help International Academy of Management and Economics in the achievement of the noble objectives for which it has been established;

4. To conduct, sponsor and publish results and development projects or studies in order to benefit the school's students and alumni, and support the International Academy of Management and Economics - Institute of Strategic and International Studies (IAME-ISIS);

5. To organize lectures, seminars, symposia, fora and workshops on the national and international levels which will serve as venue for the exchange of ideas and professional experiences in the field of alumni affairs;

6. To serve as Placement Bureau for IAME alumni and students; and

7. To generate funds for the Association to enable it to conduct projects and spearhead more relevant activities that would redound to the benefit of IAME academic community and alumni.

THE FUTURE

The Association envisions itself as a premier and World-class Association with its high-caliber Alumni situated and positioned in different sectors of our society whether in Government, Academe or Industry all-over the world.
